Bernard Kilbride
Fiddle and keyboard player Bernard is a rampant Capricorn with the ability to produce tonal beauty from anything that stands still or even hesitates. The band dictator and general guiding light, his exceptional leadership skills are marred only by the occasional bout of Cajun music. His musical accomplishments are too numerous to mention. Suffice to say, Bernard’s fiddling is much respected nationally. Bernard plays and records with Danny and Gerard as the Kilbride Brothers.
Danny Kilbride
Guitarist Daniel is also a Capricorn, albeit less rampant than his younger brother Bernard. A natural blonde (see picture!) Danny’s astonishing guitar playing has graced many an album, recording with artists such as Huw & Tony Williams, The Root Doctors and the Rowdy Dowd as well as with his brothers. Daniel began playing with Juice at the age of 12 and never ceases to amaze with his inventive, subtle and powerful style.
Dean Ryan
This picture shows bass player Dean (a true Sagittarian – half man, half horse) during a rare moment of adventurous journeying into the forbidden zone, i.e. more than three inches down the neck of the bass. This golden bass has travelled extensively, bringing a volley of low notes into the lives of dancers everywhere. Living deep in the heart of the Black Mountains, he insists he only continues to play to get out once in a while and see if it’s really true that some people stay up after 10 pm, and to talk to normal folk (sheep, whilst handsome, have limited conversational value). Having played with the brothers ‘K’ since school days he believes it’s thanks to them that he can still recall the language skills required to function in society today .
Jonathan Shorland
Bagpiper, flautist and general bag-hooter, Jonathan (star sign unknown) has become known for his innovative work with Celtish, Fernhill, Blue Horses and Ceri Rhys Matthews. Jonathan plays and makes a variety of instruments, some, like the pipes in the picture, of his own design. He is generally credited as being one of the prime movers in the reintroduction of Welsh bagpiping and pibcorn playing , together with the wearing of combat boots for flute playing.
Dave Parsons
The "King of Callers" and founder of the R.U.F.F Ceilidths Cardiff, will climb anything, anytime anywhere, no dance is complete without him.
